The K. C. Company is thrilled to be joining forces with locally-grown, internationally successful musician Josh Cake to produce a cabaret as rowdy as Grandma’s 90th birthday.
Cake’s witty lyrics and unfathomably catchy melodies are joining forces with local comedians/musicians Nicola Kuiper and Sandy Whittem to give a modern voice to a timeless journey.
Fresh off the boat from a preview season at Sydney’s Blood Moon Theatre, this musical comedy cabaret tells the true tales of two extraordinary women and their anything-but ordinary lives in the lead up to, the after-the-fact, and the actualization of immigrating to Australia. Irena and Dorothy arrived from Poland and Canada, respectively, after living through wars, romances, cabbages, and really really really cold weather.
Our performers, Sandy and Nicola, bring these elements and more to the stage as they jump and cartwheel and sashay through a variety of characters, and bring these incredible stories together with their own.
